Equally important was the emotional foundation of his upbringing. Özbil grew up in a close-knit family with an elder sister, who remains one of his closest friends and strongest supporters. Their bond, built on trust, respect, and shared experiences, shaped his character and strengthened his sense of responsibility from a young age.

After successfully graduating from high school, Özbil Akbil demonstrated strong academic performance, particularly in Physics and Mathematics, and successfully passed the international academic examinations required for higher education abroad. Alongside his academic success, he was also highly active in sports, where he won multiple awards and championships, reflecting discipline, competitiveness, and consistency from an early age.

Recognizing his analytical abilities and technical mindset, his father encouraged him to pursue Civil Engineering—a field that would allow him to apply logical thinking and problem-solving skills in a real-world context.

Özbil began his university education at the age of 18 and studied Civil Engineering at the University of Salford in Manchester between 2012 and 2016. He completed his studies and graduated at the age of 22, earning a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Civil Engineering in 2016.

During his university years, Özbil remained deeply involved in sports. Together with his Portuguese friends, he co-founded a football team, starting from the lowest division. Through discipline, teamwork, and determination, the team progressed step by step—first winning the Salford League, then the Manchester League, and eventually reaching the finals of a national tournament organized by The Football Association (FA), England, where they played at Wembley Stadium.

Graduating with a Civil Engineering (BEng) degree, Özbil Akbil entered professional life equipped with strong technical skills, analytical thinking, and structured problem-solving abilities. Yet, beyond engineering, he felt a growing awareness that his strengths extended further than desks, calculations, and fixed routines.

He was naturally drawn to movement, social interaction, and dynamic environments—enjoying conversations, meeting new people, discovering different places, and engaging in negotiations. With a strong business-oriented mindset, he felt most alive in roles that combined strategy, communication, and decision-making.

While reflecting on his next step, Özbil found himself unexpectedly part of a conversation with real estate agents. Curious by nature, he began asking questions—about the market, client psychology, negotiation dynamics, and long-term value creation. What started as a casual discussion quickly turned into clarity.

Without hesitation, Özbil made his decision. In December 2017, he entered the real estate sector and started working the following week at a local real estate agency, marking the beginning of his professional journey in property sales and investment advisory.

From the moment he entered the real estate sector, Özbil Akbil immersed himself fully in every aspect of the business. He quickly gained hands-on experience across the full spectrum of property transactions—starting from apartment rentals, moving into residential sales, and expanding into land transactions and investment-oriented deals.

Known for his ability to learn rapidly and take decisive action, Özbil adapted quickly to market dynamics, client psychology, and negotiation strategies. His technical background in engineering, combined with strong communication skills, allowed him to understand properties in depth while presenting them clearly and confidently to clients.

Özbil became the top-selling estate agent at Premar Metro Emlak, a well-established Turkish real estate franchise, marking a defining early milestone in his career and confirming that his decision to enter the real estate sector was the right one.

After achieving early success and becoming the top-performing agent in his first year, Özbil Akbil made a clear and conscious decision: if he was going to build a career in real estate, it would be at a Champions League level—elite, international, and future-focused.

Understanding that excellence requires continuous learning, he began investing heavily in professional education. His first step was advanced real estate training with Dario Realty, a company operating within the Keller Williams ecosystem, widely known for its structured systems, sales psychology, and high-performance real estate models.

Following this, Özbil continued his professional development by working with Eviqe Estates, a Swedish real estate company recognized for its highly disciplined, systematic, and process-driven approach to property advisory and client management. This experience further strengthened his respect for structure, consistency, and operational excellence.

At the same time, Özbil believed that true mastery in real estate extends beyond formal education. He continuously focused on improving himself, both professionally and personally, while expanding his horizons through networking and travelling across Europe, meeting professionals, investors, and entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds.

Over the following years, he spent extended periods in countries such as Portugal, Germany, France, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, building meaningful international connections and closely observing how different cultures approach business, trust, negotiation, and long-term investment.

These experiences broadened his global perspective, strengthened his adaptability, and shaped his ability to connect naturally with international clients—laying the foundation for a real estate career defined by global standards rather than local limitations.

Leadership Chapter: Joining Baştaşlar Group of Companies

At the end of 2022, a defining moment marked the next phase of Özbil Akbil’s career. Ahmet Baştaş, the Chairman of Baştaşlar Group of Companies—one of the most prestigious and long-established construction groups in Northern Cyprus, founded in 1969—personally contacted Özbil with an invitation to join the company and build a long-term future together.

Recognizing both his international exposure and disciplined approach to real estate, Özbil accepted the offer and joined the group as a Sales Executive. From the very beginning, he brought his international network, global mindset, and structured sales approach into the organization, while fully adapting himself to the company’s systems, values, and long-term vision.

As he expanded his professional network within the company and continuously refined his skills, Özbil quickly became a key figure within the sales structure. His leadership abilities, strategic thinking, and results-oriented mindset led to his promotion to Sales Team Leader, where he began actively managing people, performance, and sales processes.

In January 2025, following consistent performance and demonstrated leadership, Özbil Akbil was promoted to Sales Manager, becoming responsible for overseeing and leading the entire sales operation of the company—one of the most respected names in the construction and real estate sector of Northern Cyprus.

This milestone marked the realization of a journey built on vision, discipline, and international experience. As a personal tradition, Özbil celebrates the closing of big deals by popping champagne with his team.
